BANZAI PIPELINE, Oahu/Hawaii (Freitag, den 19.Dezember 2014) - Gabriel Medina, 20, gewinnt als erster Brasilianer überhaupt, den Weltmeister Titel im Wellenreiten 2014. Medina surfte eine überragende Saison und durchbricht mit seinem Titelgewinn endlich das Establishment von Kelly, Fanning und Co.!
Mit seinem Sieg an der Oahu’s North Shore geht eine tolle und spannende Saison für den jungen Brasilianer zu Ende.
Im Interview war Medina dann auch mächtig stolz als erster Brasilianer diesen Titel in sein Land zu holen.“Winning the World Title was my dream and now it’s reality - I’m seriously shocked,” sagte Medina. “Brazil is partying right now I think. I’m so thankful to be part of this, a lot of guys have tried to do this and I feel honored to be the one. I don’t know why it’s me but I’m really happy it is and I’m so proud to be Brazilian.”
