Pura Vida beach Hostel is in a beautiful location, directly on the Areia Branca Beach just 15km away from Peniche perfectly situated away from the hustle and bustle of town, yet still only a 200-meter walk from all the best restaurants and bars.
From the second you walk in the door you’ll feel right at home, with a welcoming atmosphere and plenty of activities to choose from.
Here you can have the ultimate surf experience in the nearest hostel by the beach, even if you are a slow walker it will only take you two minutes to get to the sea.
Our local instructors from Ripar Surf School have a lot of experience and they will fulfill any of your needs by helping you to reach your goals regardless of your surf experience in a worries free, safe and fun environment. We provide you a surfboard and a wetsuit. The only thing you will need to bring is your towel, camera and sunscreen.

Our location is also well known for its dinossaurs fossils from late jurassic with 150 million years. Here you can find the biggest collection from the Iberian Peninsula such as skeletons, nests, petrified eggs and footprints. But there´s a lot to do here! Beautiful beaches, high cliffs, calm coves and great seafood restaurants, it´s what you can find in 12km of our amazing coast line. Surf or a long walk in the country side with a breathtaking view? It´s up to you to decide!
Praia da Areia Branca
Praia da Areia Branca near Peniche is an exposed river break that has fairly consistent surf and can work at any time of the year. Works best in offshore winds from the east with some shelter here from north winds. Waves just as likely from local windswells as from distant groundswells and the best swell direction is from the west. The river break provides left and right handers. Best around low tide when the tide is falling. Even when there are waves, it's not likley to be crowded. Take care of urchins and rocks.

- Molhe leste is a peer point break with very hollow rights.
