Welcome to the family surf camp on Fuerteventura
Surf camp founder Christof has lived with his family on Fuerteventura for more than 15 years. Christof deliberately chose the south of the island. In the fishing village of Morro Jable, you are never more than 2 minutes away from the sea. There are no large hotels here, just a few family-run apart hotels and guest houses. So you can still experience the authentic warm Spanish mentality. Your children can play with the locals' children on the beach and in the many playgrounds within sight of cosy tapas bars, and the picturesque bay is protected from strong winds and currents. Here you can snorkel, stand-up-paddle and play with a boogie board in small waves. One of Fuerteventura's most famous surf spots is located within walking distance in Jandia.
In Morro Jable, guests of the family surf camp stay just 200 metres from the beach in fully equipped flats with kitchen, bathroom and balcony. On the large terrace there are sun loungers, showers, whirlpools with sea views and even fitness equipment.
We are a small family business and can adapt the surf course individually to the different needs of families.
In the family surf course, children, teenagers and parents surf together - a great experience and quite a few families continue surfing with us and are now in our surf courses for advanced surfers.
Families with young children (under 7 years) have the option to share the surf course and pay for only one surf course place, so both parents take part in the initiations on the beach and take turns surfing in the water while the other looks after the child.
Alternatively, we can organise childcare on the beach. This means that single parents can also take part in the family surf camp.
Of course, we only take children to beaches with little current and not too big waves. We travel to different beaches in the south of Fuerteventura every day. We have lightweight surf helmets for children under the age of 10 for the surf lessons. All course participants are provided with wetsuits and surfboards with soft foam covers to prevent injuries. To protect them from the sun and because children get cold more quickly than adults, children are always given wetsuits with long arms and legs.
After the surf course, we offer many joint activities, such as eating tapas together, a table football tournament in our office, sandboarding on the large dune on the beach, skateboarding and much more.
