Fuerteventura has the reputation of being the European Hawaii. True, be cause Fuerteventuras share not only the vulcanic origin with it's pacific relative, also the perfect waves, the summerlike climate yeer-round, the endless beaches, the crystal clear blue water and last but not least the relaxed and friendly local pepple.
Morro Jable is one of the only places of Fuerteventura where you can sill experience authentic Spain. Situated between the highest mountains and the longest beaches of the island lies Morro Jable with it's little fishing harbour, it's narrow streets with tapas bars and the little seaside promenade with it's fish restaurants. Everybody seems to know everybody and all have time for a friendly "hello" and little chat. For people from big cities times seems to stand still in Morro Jable.
Our surf camp the Casa Alberto is situaed in quite surroundings on a little hill 2 minutes foot walk away from the little shops, supermarkets, restaurants and bars of Morro Jable. Also our offfice with Wifi, table soccer, indo boards, surf DVD's and skateboards ist situed in Morro Jable. From here we start with our Landrover Defenders to surf lessons and guidings.
Next to Morro Jable and only 15 minutes foot walk along the beach promenade is Jandia. There are some more shops, bars and a disco. A perfect place for a night out with your fellow surfers. Also located in Jandia and next to the light house, is one of Fuerteventuras best surf spots, the Cruz Roja. The waves here, can be mellow long right handers, short and steep lefthanders and are perfect for beginner, intermediate and advanced surfers. The Cruz Roja is the perfect place for a sunset surf after the surf lessons or guiding.
Surf course
Our surf lessons are based on years of experience and the modern teaching methods of the British Surfing Association (BSA). Our courses are designed by sport scientists. We are also constantly monitoring the quality of the lessons to make them better. Every go by our 4x4's (Landrover Defender) to the surf beach which providesb the best surf condtions according to your surfing skills. Only optimal wave and wind conditions according to your level of surfing lets you make huge advances in learning to surf.We've got a big range of new and modern surfing equipment (wetsuits lycras from BILLABONG, surfboards from NSP and Surftech/Tuflite, etc.), to be able to give every surfer the surf equipment which fits best to their skills. All our surf coaches are certified by the British Surfing Association (BSA). They are also qualified lifeguards certified with the Surf Life Saving Association (SLSA). Every Coach has a minimum of 2 years experience in teaching surfing. Our coaches are highly motivated, for every one of them surfing is more than just a sport it is a life spirit! That means more than riding a wave, it is the fun of discovering new places, adventure, meeting a lot of people and having friends around the globe. We want you to become a part of it!
What are our strengths?
Apart from the beginner's course, our surfschool is specialised in intermediate and advanced surf lessons and surf guiding. The advanced lessons - often neglected from other surfschools - are our strengths!
You want to stand up on a surfboard but have never surfed before?
Our surf courses are based on sensible structured learning steps which build on each other and guaranty a comfortable and safe start to surfing. We also insist on a small surf coach to surf student ratio (1:6). Only in small groups can our surf coaches train each surf student individually. You already had some surf lessons and have surfed your first white water waves but want more? You are already surfing green waves but don't have enough drive for your first turns? You have only got one week of holiday and you want to surf as much as possible, but you don't know where to go? Then we recommend for you our intermediate or advanced surf courses! We only use surf coaches that are certified for advanced lessons (min. BSA Level 2 Instructor). They also have at least 3 years experience specifically in teaching advanced surfers. From reaching the lineup to your first cutback they will guide you in theory and practice.
Is that all?
No! Videocoaching. Almost every surf school offers it, but just a few are really doing it. Our surf lesson includes, depending on your package, at least one detailed video coaching. Whether you are a complete beginner or a professional surfer, with movement correction in slow motion it makes every surfers surfing improve, a lot, in a minimum amount of time. Our surf courses also include interesting und technical theory lessons. From understanding currents and learning to negotiate them, tides, wind, wave development and surf technique, to surfboard design and the history of surfing. We are constantly checking the quality of our surf lessons, for example with our feedback sheets. We want your opinion after your surf lessons, so that we can become better and so that you can have the best possible fun in your surf holidays.
All surf courses and guidings contain: surfboard (soft foam board for beginner, epoxy board from NSP or Surftech/Tuflite for intermediate or advanced), wetsuit and lycra (from BILLABONG), theory and practical instruction, videocoaching (2 times a week), daily surf spot guiding with our Landrover Defender to the surf spot with the best waves for the surf level of our surf students, transfers to your accommodation and insurance.
We also offer a radio helmet coaching and GoPro camera hire.
Accommodation/Surf Camp
We believe that a sporting and relaxing holiday includes an accommodation that makes you feel comfortable and at home. The accommodation we offer have quiet surroundings, neat and cosy arrangements, and are walking distance to the beach (under 200m!) as are the little boutiques, restaurants, bars and a disco, where you can enjoy the evening and gently let it fade away. We offer a three different kind of accommodation/surf camp for every taste and budget, our Casa Alberto in Morro Jable, our bungalows in Costa Calma and the hostel in Morro Jable.
At least one time a week we go out together with our guests and have a beach barbecue or tapas dinner, etc. all together.
Once a week we give an extra theoretical surf lessons in our office in Morro Jable. Also at the office we organise Spanish courses, arrange wellness specials and meet for our Yoga lessons in the evening at the beach.
