We are perfectly located in the center of the charming fishing village, Ericeira, and in the middle of a 6km stretch of world-class surf breaks. You will find the closest beaches and breaks only a short walk away.
You will live in our fully renovated traditional Portuguese surf villa from 1933 with a design concept combining modern simplicity with the fresh ocean breeze. Relax in the lush garden, have a drink in the bar, enjoy the sunny terrace or step outside to find restaurants, lively bars, shopping and beaches just around the corner.
Amar’s interior decoration combines modern simplistic elegance, relaxed surf culture and the fresh ocean breeze, all framed by true Portuguese traditions. We do everything to make you feel at home here at Amar. We love to see our guests wandering around barefoot, sharing meals and stories in the garden, chilling on the sun deck or enjoying a drink from the lounge bar while watching the sunset.
Our Portuguese surf villa was fully renovated in 2016, however, we made sure to keep the charming original details intact from when the house was built in 1933. The villa is perfectly located in Ericeira town center, with the closest beaches and all the town can offer on our doorstep. Walk outside to find restaurants, lively bars and shopping just around the corner.
The villa has a wide range of comfortable rooms, private suites or shared dorms for those who prefer an economic alternative. Our private rooms are available for between 1-4 people. The dorms hold up to 7 people in each room.

WE LOVE SURFING at Amar and want you to experience and share our passion for the waves. Our Surf Academy has a structured teaching method that combines theory with lots of hands-on coaching in the waves, video analysis and continuous feedback throughout the course. We aim to give you the best conditions to improve your surfing skills while feeling as at home and comfortable in our surfers paradise as we do. This is why we have created the most complete surf packages and coaching programs. Our certified surf instructors will welcome you with a theory lesson and provide you with the Amar Surfer’s Manual to prepare you for your first lesson in the waves.
As you start to progress we film you and give constructive feedback during a video analysis; it is both fun to see yourself on the board and a great way to improve. We also invite you to visit our partner’s surfboard factory, a true part of Ericeira’s surf history and culture. We finish the week with a slide show of your surfing photos which will be made available for you.
All our coaches are experienced and certified surfers that will introduce you to surfing with a profound local knowledge and will guide you through all the beauties of surfing and Ericeira.
