About us
Ticket2Surf can be described as a surf lodge or surf camp located in Praia da Tocha, Portugal. Praia da Tocha is an authentic small coastal town hidden in the forests of the Beira Litoral region, between Porto, Coimbra, and Lisbon.
Ticket2Surf was founded in 2011, and the owners are a Dutch Portuguese couple and their two kids who fell in love with this authentic village, its beautiful surroundings, and laidback vibe.
Brian is the head surf coach and he also has a post-graduation degree in surf & performance (Level 1 and 2) and he is the perfect person to help you improve your surf skills. Besides his passion for surfing, he is an entertainer and loves to cook, play guitar and tell funny stories and jokes.
Claudia is a yoga teacher and loves to share the yoga lifestyle with her students. She is also a biologist and as a Portuguese "chica" she will be more than happy to tell you all about the treasures of the Portuguese culture, and history and also show you the beautiful nature around.
About the lodge
The lodge and surf school are situated in the main street and 100m from the beach of Praia da Tocha. There are a couple of nice bars, a few restaurants, a market, 2 supermarkets, 2 ATM machines, all within walking distance from our place.
Apart from that, we offer:
- Accommodation in our comfortable lodge, in dorms or private double rooms;
- Custom made furniture from recycled material;
- Self-service kitchen, big living room, free WI-FI, TV, BBQ, and a chill-out zone with hammocks;
- Skate cruiser, ham-board, indo-board, slackline, Pilates ball, kettlebells, yoga mats
- Surf lessons/surf guiding (all levels) and surf safaris
- Surf rentals (surfboards and wetsuits)
- Other activities: SUP, Yoga, horseback riding, Canyoning, Bike rental
- We organize BBQs and dinner nights with local products;
- The crew speaks English, Dutch, Portuguese, Spanish, and basic german.

Traveling with your family? No problem. Praia da Tocha is very safe for kids and has not a lot of traffic, in our main street, there are no cars allowed. Our place is family proof and suitable for a family surf holiday. We have 2 larger rooms where parents can sleep with their kids and a baby crib can be booked upon request. Abou the surf
We provide surf lessons, surf courses, and surf guiding for all levels.
Whether you are a complete beginner or a more advanced surfer. Ticket2Surf has certified surf coaches (accredited by the Portuguese surfing federation and the Portuguese sports institute) and works with small groups where everyone gets attention.
If the waves are not suitable to surf at our home spot, we transport you to one of the other nearby beaches with more suitable waves, depending on the conditions.
The closest surf spot from our lodge is our home break and is only 100 meters away. This beach break, for all surf levels, starts to work with less than 3 ft (1 meter) swell, and is the place to be! If it´s flat here, it´s flat everywhere! The rest of the surf spots of the Beira Litoral coast are a variety of world-class beaches, reefs, and point breaks.
Praia da Tocha is located in the Beira Litoral region, which is part of the famous Silver Coast. It has this name because of the silver shining reflex of the sun on the ocean. As implicit in the name, this beautiful area of mellow temperatures, white sandy beaches, and amazing landscapes is considered one of the most beautiful places on the planet.
The famous student city of Coimbra, our region's capital, has one of the oldest universities in Europe and is only half an hour's drive away from our place.
With such a variety of good surf spots and just a small number of surfers, this area is Portugal’s hidden jewel!
