Our small paradise hides between palm trees in the South of the beautiful subtropical Island Lombok, Bali’s untouched sister island. Lombok can be easily compared to Bali some 20 years ago with its still few tourists. Besides trekking the second highest still active volcano of Indonesia, Mount Rinjani, there are also endless white beaches with turquoise water, tropical waterfalls, rice paddies, small fishing villages and of course heaps of surf spots!
Drop In Surf Lodge is located 5 min. outside of the centre of the small village Kuta Lombok. One of the most beautiful beaches, Tanjung Aan, as well as the surf spots Seger and Gerupuk Bay are located in our neighbourhood!
ABOUT THE SURF CAMP
Location and surf conditions:
Drop In Surf Lodge is surrounded by palm trees and is located in a small neighbourhood a few minutes outside of Kuta. One of the most beautiful beaches, Tanjung Aan as well as the Surf spots Seger and Gerupuk Bay are only a short scooter-ride from Drop In.
Camp character
Drop In Surf Lodge offers space for 12 guests. The Lodge has a cosy, familiar atmosphere with all the comfort you need to relax and unwind during your holiday. The main languages in the camp are English as well as German (the three owners all speak german). Drop In is also the home of four friendly dogs that can be good entertainment.
Camp operator
We are three girls from Switzerland and Germany who love Lombok, its people and its waves. Our paths crossed in Kuta Lombok in 2012 and we soon realized that we all share the same dream - showing other people how beautiful Lombok is and giving them a home base from where they can discover the island. It started with building a house for ourselves and the Drop In Café which opened in spring 2014. Shortly after the first bungalows followed which opened in spring 2015. Our last step is following now with another 3 bungalows, the swimming pool and the chill area resulting in our Drop In Surf Lodge – a surf oasis with all the comfort or how we call it: a home away from home!
ACCOMMODATION AND CATERING
Accommodation types:
Our six bungalows unite local features like the Alang-Alang roof with Western standards. All bungalows have a/c, ceiling fans, a bathroom with a hot water open-air shower as well as a private veranda to relax and enjoy the atmosphere during sunsets.
All bungalows are equipped with:

- en-suite bathroom with hot water shower, WC, sink & towels
- private veranda overlooking the garden
- WiFi
- Coffee- and Tea station

We have two different categories of Bungalows; either the “Tropical Vintage” Bungalows which charm with their cosiness or the a bit bigger “Tropical Industrial” bungalows which have a bit more space and have a slightly industrial touch. The pool area with its sunbeds, cosy daybeds and lounge invite to linger and relax after an exciting surf session. Integrated in the main house is the Drop In Café with its yummy home made cakes and smoothies, which is perfect for a light lunch or a sweet treat during the day.
Our Drop In Surf Garage is equipped with a variety of soft- and hardtops in different lengths, leashes, rashguards, zinc and wax. Moreover, we sell some well-known Surf bikini labels.
Furthermore we have 2 dorms with 3 beds each. Both dorms have A/C as well as fan, one shared bathroom as well as a private veranda and garden with outdoor shower. Each guest has it's own locker.
Catering
Included in the surf packages is daily a healthy breakfast (Coffee, fresh juice and a choice of: eggs with home made bread, müesli with fruits, yogurt and home made granola or pancakes) as well as two camp dinners. A small menu with light food is available during the day. Kuta itself (5 minutes by scooter) has a wide variety of restaurants with Indonesian as well as Western cuisine to very reasonable prices. Dinner is available when pre-booked (until 11am same day).

SURF COURSE AND ACTIVITIES
Surf course details
Lombok offers waves for every level. Our teacher and guides make sure that our guests are at the right spot at the right time. The time and spot for the session will be announced the day before and depends greatly on the tide and the swell. Transport and material is organised by the teachers and the lesson itself is held in small groups: one teacher for two guests! This ensures that every guest gets maximal amount of waves and instructions cut to their personal skills and needs. A surf session takes about 3.5 to 5 hours including transport, short boat trip and information at the spot. The lessons and instructions are held in English.
Surf equipment
The whole equipment is included in the beginner and intermediate lessons: Surfboard (size depending on the skills), leash, rashguard, wax. Moreover we also offer surfboard insurance. The material can also be used after the sessions.
Surfboard-rental 7 Euro / day (e.g. for guiding).
Our Surf Sessions
A surf session usually starts with preparing yourself and your equipment and checking out the spot upon arrival. Meanwhile the teachers will give you details and background knowledge about the spot and what to expect! During the time in the water, the teachers will always be close to you, help and teach you accordingly to your level.
A surf session will usually take up about half a day. The rest of the day you can rest your muscles and mind either at Drop In or explore some of the beautiful beaches on your own.
The time of the surf sessions depends on the tide, swell and wind and will always be announced the day before.
Beginner Surf Course
It will be the first time for you on a surfboard or it has been a few years ago? Then this will be the perfect course for you! Before hitting the water, you will get thorough instructions and basic take-off training. In the water, you will at first learn how to position yourself on the surfboard, how to paddle and how to react correctly, then the teacher will help you to catch your first waves! Additionally to the surf lessons you will also get two theory inputs where you learn about the most important elements as well as the surf-etiquette to make you react correctly in the water.
In this course, all the needed equipment will be included!
Intermediate Surf Course
You already know how to paddle, take off and maybe even surf green waves? Then Intermediate classes will be good for you. At this level the focus lies on learning to read the waves, improving your timing and making smooth take offs while cruising along the wave. At this level the teachers will mainly give you tips how to improve your surfing and what details to pay attention to so that you make steady progress at your surfing skills.
In this course, all the needed equipment will also be included!
Advanced – Surf Guiding
Making fast take offs and turns are no problem for you? You like bigger and faster waves? But you still wish to be accompanied by a guide with lots of knowledge about all the spots and where to be when? When booking surf guiding you will be brought to all the spots that will make your heart beat faster. Our guides will introduce the spots with all its tricks to you and surf along with you. Adventure, pushing your boundaries and lots of fun are a must!
If you book surf guiding, you will bring your own surfboard. We provide the transport to/from the spot and all the organization around surfing. Check out our website for special "boot camp packages"!

Other Activities
Massage at Drop In Lodge or Yoga outside of Drop In Lodge (each app. 10 Euro). We also organize trips around the island, e.g. waterfalls, snorkelling, trekking, fishing trips, local villages, etc. (prices depend on number of persons joining).
